  • The DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency) provides information on traffic law, licencing regulations and other driving related matters.

  • The DSA (Driving Standards Agency) is responsible for practical and theory tests in Great Britain for cars, motorcycles, lorries, buses and other vehicles. It also maintains a register of driving instructors and checks their standard of tuition.

  • The Pass Plus scheme takes the newly, fully licensed driver from basic skills to a higher level of skill and knowledge with the opportunity to reduce car insurance costs right at the beginning of their driving career.

  • The IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) is the largest and probably best known organisation for improving driving standards, promoting road safety and conducting advanced driving tests.

  • The aim of RoSPA is to reduce the number of road accidents by encouraging interest in road safety, improving driving standards, knowledge and skill and by enabling members to take the RoSPA test.

  • The Diamond Advanced Motorists provides another route to improved driving based on the DSA style and is useful for driving instructors to take initial steps to validate their skills in connection with CPD as well as other drivers who want to improve their skills.
